Travel Details to 1st Scotsail Training at Largs.

1st Scotsail Training's sailing centre is based at Largs Yacht Haven being Scotland's largest marina and is easily reached due to its locations not being hidden away in the remote highlands taking hours to reach by car or ferry.

When you arrive , drive up to the security barrier and press the button to talk to the marina receptionist. Explain you are a Scotsail client doing s sailing course with us and wish to enter the car park. Also ask them for the 4 digit security code which you will need to access the toilet / shower block and the pontoon Gates.

 

Our office is located in the centre square above the Bosuns table and is well sign posted.

If you arrive late for your course there will be a sign on the door giving instructions.

The hourly train service to Glasgow takes 50 minutes.Trains leave Largs 10 minutes
before each hour.

BY AIR:
Glasgow Airport is 50 minutes away, as is Prestwick with its low cost flights to
London and Ireland.

BY CAR: Click here for Pilotage Notes Click here for a map To find us from North, East or South head into Preston following signs to the railway station, then follow signs to Lytham and Blackpool. This route joins the A583. Turn left off the A583 at McDonalds, then right at the next roundabout heading for the swing bridge. Follow the road for 300m, past the Waterfront pub, and we are next on the left FROM NORTH Leave M6 at M55 interchange Junction 32 then take the slip road to the A6 for approximately 2 miles to the A5085 (Blackpool Road). Turn right towards Blackpool & Lytham St Annes. Continue through several sets of traffic lights for approximately 1 mile until you come to a Chrysler Jeep showroom on the left-hand side. Turn left at these traffic lights, (Ashton Park is to your right). At the bottom of the hill are traffic lights. Go straight across towards McDonalds which is on your left. At the roundabout turn right and follow the road round until you see the Waterfront Pub. The Marina building is next to the pub and just before the bridge. FROM EAST Follow A59 under M6 Junction 31 and up the hill to inner ring road A5085. Go straight across at all junctions for approximately 5 miles until you come to a Chrysler Jeep showroom on the left-hand side. Turn left at these traffic lights, (Ashton Park is to your right). At the bottom of the hill are traffic lights. Go straight across towards McDonalds that is on your left. At the roundabout turn right and follow the road round until you see the Waterfront Pub. The Marina building is next to the pub and just before the bridge. FROM SOUTH & SOUTH EAST Leave M6 at Junction 29 or M61 at Junction 9 new M65 interchange. Turn left following signs to Lytham St Annes (A582) for approximately 3.5 miles to the bridge over the River Ribble. On the bridge keep in left land and take the slip road onto Riversway Docklands. Follow the signs to the marina building that is located next to the Waterfront pub at the far end of the marina.
