Stephen Kerr - Principal and Director of 1st ScotSail Training.   Stephen has 35 years of sailing experience and has been teaching RYA Practical and Shorebased courses since 1992 and is a qualified Yachtmaster Instructor.

Stephen has overall responsibilty for Training Centre Operations and teaches the Shorebased and VHF Radio Courses in Scotland.

Greg Norris is the new Chief Instructor for 1st ScotSail Training Ltd, both at our Scotland and North of England Training Centres.

Greg has been sailing for many years and has been a qualified Professional Yachtmaster Instructor since the year 2000.   Greg is also responsible for teaching RYA Shorebased Courses at Preston Marina.

Richard Smith is ScotSails Senior Yachtmaster Intructor and the owner of one of our RYA Sailing Training Yachts. He is a keen sailor with around 15 years experience and participates regularly in most of the Scottish yacht races.

Richard is a Full Time ScotSail Yachtmaster Instructor and is devoted to helping new sailors pass their Start Yachting and Competent Crew Courses.

James Haine is another Senior Yachtmaster Instructor with ScotSail and is the owner of our training yacht 'Tequendama'.

A highly knowledgable person, James has skippered the Rolls Royce yacht 'Merlin of Clyde' including passages around the UK.   He has been sailing for many years and has been a Yachtmaster Instructor for the last decade.

John Parlane is a Yachtmaster Intructor for ScotSail and has over 20 years of on-the-water experience.

John is a highly skilled individual and is a regular sight on ScotSail courses.

John Lambert is our Professional Ocean Yachtmaster Instructor and instructs our 5-day and weekend courses.   He has been sailing for more than twenty years and has been an RYA Approved instructor for 12 years.

John can instruct students up to Yachtmaster Offshore level including Prep for MCA Exams.   John has also taught our RYA Theory Courses at our Largs base.

Ross Ritchie has been an RYA Instructor for over 18 years and teaches ScotSail RYA Practical courses from Start Yachting up to Day Skipper level.

Ross has been involved with the Ocean Youth Trust (OYT) in Scotland for many years and undertakes many of our weekend courses for Start Yachting and Competent Crew level students.

Nick Weir trained with ScotSail to become a Professional Cruising Instructor, and now works as a ScotSail Instructor.

Nick also works for Central Scotland Police as a member of their Dive Team, he is also a skipper for ScotSail Experience Building Skippered Sailing Experiences.

Fiona McDowell has been sailing for many years and is an enthusiastic member of our team who has enjoyed ScotSail courses herself.

Fiona is responsible for helping course students with their bookings and enquiries, and answering any questions customers may have.

Blake Budge helps with all our office based sales and marketing activities including charter-yacht enquiries.

Blake helps to keep our charter fleet well-maintained and ready-to-depart, and can answer your questions relating to all our RYA Courses in Scotland and England, and those relating to our charter fleet.
